Department “Agricultural and forestry disciplines”
The history of the department “Agricultural and forestry disciplines” begins with the department “Agrotechnology”, which was created in 1976. The department is considered to be the graduating department in the specialties 1502000 – “Agronomy”, 1503000 – “Crop production”, 1508000 – “Forestry, landscape gardening and landscape construction”, 1511000 – “Land management”, 1514000 – “Ecology and rational use of natural resources.” Specialists are trained in the following specialties: “Agronomy” since 1976, “Land Management” since 2003, “Forestry, landscape gardening and landscape construction” since 2004, “Ecology and rational use of natural resources” since 2009, “Plant growing” since 2014. The main activities of the department are training and research, training of future specialists in the fields of agronomy, crop production, land management, ecology and forestry.
Students are trained according to educational programs based on dual training and modular competence.
The training of specialists is carried out by 20 teachers, among them 1 doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 candidates of science, 3 masters of agricultural sciences, 1 master of natural sciences, 6 masters of pedagogical sciences, the first category – 4 teachers, the second category – 7 teachers, without category 7 teachers. Currently, the department is headed by K. Kamalov.
Of the teachers of the department in the nomination “Agriculture” of the regional competition “Master of the Year 2014” (SKO), held among teachers and students of technical and vocational education institutions, B. Isabekov took the I place, and in 2015 in the nomination “Agriculture” of the regional Competition “Master of the Year 2015” (SKO) O. Bekaulov took the third place. Teachers of the department D. Sydyk, B. Isabekov, K. Kamalov, Zh. Alibaeva, M. Zhamkeeva, D. Beisenov, U.Sybankulova, S. Mukhamedzhanova were awarded the anniversary medal by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commemorative awards, badges and commendations of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan , Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akimat of Turkestan Region, Education Department of Turkestan Region, Maslikhat of Turkestan Region. Over the past three years, 17 teachers have passed international continuing education courses.
The teaching staff of the department leads in the specialty 1502000 – “Agronomy” – 15 module, on the specialty 1503000 – “Crop production” – 14 module, on the specialty 1508000 – “Forestry, landscape gardening and landscape construction” – 19 module, on the specialty 1514000 – ” Ecology and rational use of natural resources ”- 19 module and in other specialties – 4 modules.
In the framework of dual training, individual disciplines are conducted in such organizations, as Nursha-Temir LLP, a branch of the Turkestan region of the RSU “Republican Methodological Center for Phytosanitary Diagnostics and Predictions” OGI in the agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, branch in Turkestan region “Kazhydromet”, Turkestan Regional Inspectorate of State Institution “State Commission for Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops” of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, LLP “South-West Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and Plant Growing”, GKKP “Shymkent State Arboretum named after A. Askarov”,
KSU “Sairam-Ugam State National Natural Park, large agricultural institutions and farms.
To ensure a high-quality educational process, the department has 12 specially equipped classrooms and laboratories equipped with the necessary devices for practical, laboratory, scientific research, 1 ha of vineyard, 1 ha of apple trees, 1 ha of cultivated land for growing vegetables and an experimental cultivated area of crop rotation, biolaboratory, granary, plot for growing seedlings. The laboratories of the department are equipped with modern equipment.
Over the past five years, teachers of the department have compiled and published over 15 scientific papers and manuals, as well as published in international, national and regional publications of over 60 scientific articles.
More than 15 institutions of social partnership with which agreements were signed (large agricultural institutions and research institutes) were selected as bases for professional practice by college students.
In the 2016-2017 academic year, dual and modular education systems were introduced in the specialty 1502000 – “Agronomy”, in the 2014-2015 academic year in the specialty 1508000 – “Forestry, landscape gardening and landscape construction” – the dual and the 2017-2018 academic year modular education system, in the 2017-2018 academic year, specialty 1514000 – “Ecology and the rational use of natural resources” – modular education system, in the 2018-2019 academic year, specialty 1503000 – “Crop production” – a modular education system.
As of September 2, 2019, the number of students studying is 330.
In 2019, the employment rate of graduates in the specialties “Agronomy” and “Forestry, landscape gardening and landscape construction” is 84%.
